Santa Rita Road Trip
Starting from Templeton
From Hwy 101 exit at Vineyard Drive and go west.
After about three streets, you'll see a "Wineries" sign.
Turn left(south) on Santa Rita Road
After a sharp right turn, it'll be hard to stray from the road.
A sign warns not to drive when the road is wet and...
Says there's 14 miles of winding, narrow roads.
Well, there is 11 miles of unpaved road but...
Since you're here to enjoy the drive it's not bad at all.
Leave your SUV at home! This drive is easy!
Once you're back on the paved road, you'll hit Old Creek Road.
Turn right and come out in Cayucos at a signal.
Turn left(south) and head toward Morro Bay.
The Sights
It's a beautiful shady drive.
You'll drive along side Santa Rita Creek.
You'll pass Santa Rita Rancho.
You'll climb up high to see the surrounding land.
You'll pass some interesting homes.
Take your time and watch for an occasional oncoming car.
You'll finally pass by Whalerock Reservoir and...
Come out to Hwy 1 in the charming town of Cayucos.

Drive north to Cayucos and look for a signal and...
Turn east(inland) at the signal(Old Creek Road)
After you go past Whalerock Reservoir, look for Santa Rita Rd...
Just past a sign warning of winding road, turn right.
