Also Known as Turtle Hill
Directions
From Los Osos Valley Road, turn on south Bay Blvd for 2.6 miles.
Just past the yellow curve sign, turn right for parking.
From Hwy 1 & Baywood/Los Osos exit, go 0.6 miles past the MB State Park turn.
Just past the blue 'litter removal' sign, turn left.
Start up Quarry Trail for 200yds, then turn left.
Walk around the western slope of Cerro Cabrillo.
Join with a service road and take it up to its end.
Now walk up the hill taking the left fork.
This last trail almost disappears up the rocky hill.
Notes
Notice Whalemouth Rock and others up the slope.
The sign has some wildflower photos but I didn't see them in July.
Go by a cactus patch. It's an easy hike till the last ascent.
Enjoy the views of the meandering streambeds in the estuary.
Oh yeah, use insect repellent if you're hiking in the late afternoon.
Also bring a little snack to share sitting atop 'Turtle Hill'
I think it doesn't count unless you've climbed that last rock!
4 views! Black Hill, Chorro Flats, Cerro Cabrillo, and the Estuary
Viewed later from South Bay Blvd, you can see the 'Turtle'!
That last right fork might have led down into Chorro Flats?
