June 19 - July 3 CruiseTour #6

Holland America - Alaska Trip

Return to Alaska Map
Start in Anchorage

As we drove into Tok on Wednesday June 23rd
I took a couple of pictures of these great fires in the distance.
We didn't realize another fire was burning up ahead to the northeast.

Thursday June 24th - Many got trapped in Chicken. We flew out of Northway.
Here was the travel restriction posting on the internet for that day.

Friday June 25th - You could see and smell the smoke in Dawson. No AC!
Saturday June 26th - Still overcast due to the smoke and it's still hot.
Sunday June 27th - 2nd day in Whitehorse. The 3rd room with only a fan!

Monday June 28th - Finally as we head toward Skagway...
We finally feel like we're leaving the smoke and heat behind.
