short hike: south San Luis Obispo

Getting There
From Hwy 101 exit east at Los Osos Valley Road.
Take Higuera north(left) a couple of signals.
Turn right on Tank Farm Road toward the airport.
Continue across Broad Street into a housing area.
On the downhill turn right on Wavertree.
Left on Spanish Oaks and a quick right to the end of Sweetbay.

It's a moderate one hour hike with a 400ft elevation gain.
Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner or another train will roll through.
The old Rodriguez Adobe still stands.

Bring a snack to picnic in the shady spot!
Igneous rock outcrops on the north side.
