LOOKING BACK

JANUARY 7, 1996

Congratulations on the Terminal Islanders’ 25th Anniversary.

I join the 500 plus members on this happy and memorable occasion and pray that the next 25 years will be as productive.

Our special thanks to Mr. Iwao Shirokawa, Mr. Masaaki Kuwabara, Mr. Noritatsu Nakai, the first elected President Bill Nakasaki and our present President Yukio Tatsumi, who were the nucleus in the formation of our organization. There were many others, too numerous to name, who were also involved.

Physically our prewar home site doesn’t exist anymore, but the memories remain vivid. It was a wonderfully relaxed place with everyone associating as one big family. This spirit and relationship has been manifested through the substantial donation to the Keiro Retirement Home, and again the 1/4 million dollar plus donations for the establishment of the 2nd phase of the Japanese American National Museum.

To the departed relatives and friends and to the remaining friends, many “THANK YOU”, for the numerous wonderful experiences and memories of day past.
