3-Cardiff by the Sea
Country Inn-good colonial style rooms / decent breakfast buffet included (have your boyfriend give you room service!) / terrible towel service (you've got to stay after them and then some!)
@Birmingham Exit-parallel to the west side of the fwy is an cute little orchid nursery… click for the many San Diego Nurseries in this area.
4-Encinitas
Stonesteps Beach (Old Hwy 101, right on El Porto)
Walk south to Moonlight Beach and get a little wet picking up those beach stones that Sally likes.
Swami's Park near the Transcendental Meditation grounds gives a nice coastal view and another chance to put your arm around your girl.
Quail Botanical Gardens is a delightful surprise.
5-Leucadia
La Costa Gardens where the owner and waiters sing show tunes and opera / views of the coast and Battiquitos Lagoon / Italian / click for Encinitas Restaurants
6-Carlsbad
In Carlsbad Village we found a cute quilt shop, Sowing Sisters

Gates open @6:30PM, low back chairs < 27 inches. Picnic Dinner.
