Donny Conn

Donny Conn is one of the most hilariously entertaining speakers in America. He has a unique ability to capture the essence of a meeting and convert it into an uproarious performance. Since entering the speaking profession in 1980, Donny has delivered more than 100 speeches a year to groups of all sizes, ages and interests.

Although Donny Conn’s presentation is 90% humor, there is always an underlying message. He speaks of the dynamic power of laughter as a curative force and also a powerful mechanism to reduce stress. Sitting in on his presentation is akin to a therapy session. He also embraces the virtues of persistence, goal setting and hard work.

Donny Conn is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he majored in behavioral science. His interest in music and entertainment took him to the world of show business. After graduation, he formed a vocal group called the Playmates which in the late 1950s and early 1960s achieved national popularity. Donny Conn and the Playmates earned six gold records, one of which he wrote and is today a classic in the music world, “Beep Beep,” the saga of the underdog Rambler chasing the Cadillac.

Donny Conn’s interest then turned to comedy and comedy writing. One of his routines was a take-off of a typical pompous speaker who says nothing, but with great authority. An association executive caught his act one night and asked him to appear at a convention. The success of that appearance opened up a new frontier for Donny.

Meeting Planners International, the Society of Company Meeting Planners and the Western Conference of Association Executives have all invited Donny Conn to speak at their respective conventions.

Donny Conn can set the tone of an event, establish a needed change of pace or deliver a wrap-up that will fire up the audience and create an enthusiastic conclusion.
