THE FLYING MACHINE

Cobbling together the pieces of Pinkerton’s Assorted Colours, Producer/songwriters Tony Macauley and Geoff Stevens formed the studio band Flying Machine with Steve Jones on lead guitar, Tony Newman and Sam Kempe on vocals, Stewart Coleman on bass and Paul Wilkinson on drums.

The band released a number of singles on Pye in 1969 and 1970, culminating with the album entitled Down to Earth with the Flying Machine in 1970.

In 1998, the work of Flying Machine was compiled on a two-CD set from Sequel called Flight Recorder.
