CHERYL LYNN

Cheryl LynnCheryl Lynn was born in Los Angeles on March 11, 1957, and raised in the church of The Living God. Her mother, Opal Smith, was the minister of music. "That's where all of my spirit and soul comes from", she witnesses in a heartbeat. Cheryl harmonized her way through the the tiny tots choir to the adult chorus, later traveling the circuit with greats James Cleveland and Stan Lee.

She was too shy to sing in church,but Cheryl Lynn was brave enough to take a shot on the silly Seventies television hit, "The Gong Show".She did that to please her boyfriend.It was a moment of truth when she sang "You are sobeautiful".

In 1978, Cheryl made her first album "Cheryl Lynn".Her bravado would bless us with "Got to be real", revealing the brilliance of her spirit and uncovering the hidden star potential in a legion of disco devotes.The next single was "Star Love" The song opens with a slow, scene-setting intro, gallops into a disco trot, then takes to the stars.

In the 80's , Cheryl had another smash hit, "Shake it up Tonight", in 1981. The next album was produced by Luther Vandross and had the hit "If this world were mine", where Luther sings with her.

In 1983, another single went to the top of the charts: "Encore".

In 1996, The album "The best of Cheryl Lynn".And now Cheryl is preparin a new album,that will be a success, for sure!
