White Pelicans in the distance. Brown Pelicans skimming the water! |
Snowy Egret moves by stirring up the mud. |
Avocets get the orange color later during mating season. (side-to-side bill action) |
Northern Pintail with the white in the chest and up their necks. |
Red-winged blackbirds were noisy. White-crowned Sparrow in the bush. |
We saw two active, screeching Red-shouldered Hawks(white bands in the tail) |
Killdeer sounds funny and has broad black chest bands. |
A few Willets flew by with their striking black and white wing markings. |
Returning we saw three Black-crowned Night Herons and a Great Blue Heron. |
The Black Brant geese will fly from Alaska in 36 straight hours later in the year. |
