Nature Preserve in Morro Bay State Park

Getting There and Back
Head for the Morro Bay Natural History Museum.
From South Bay Blvd turn in before to park at the Bayside Cafe
From Main St, enter the park and turn up into the museum parking lot.
The trail begins near the north driveway into the museum.
Follow the trail along the shoreline and up into the trees.
After viewing the rookery, you can continue past the Inn at Morro Bay.
Take the walkway down to the shoreline before the Bayshore condos.
Join up with Bayshore Drive to a small park and lookout.
Return or continue on Bayshore Drive up to Main Street and return along the road.

Notes
The Bayside Cafe is a great spot if a little pricy.
What a location for the Natural History Museum
If you're thinking of renting a kayak (Check the Tide Chart).
More shorebirds at high tide!
American White Pelicans (Swimming close to shore and feeding!) are giants
to even that Great Egret on the left!
The Great Blue Heron is huge compared to the Black-crowned Night Heron.
Larger Great Egret (yellow beak) vs the Snowy Egret (black beak, yellow feet).
