Eocene Carmelo Formation - 50 mya
conglomerate and sandstone and shale and silt
Mainly in the center of the park especially at Sea Lion Point.
Turbidite deposit formed in a paleo-submarine canyon
Monterey Mass (Cretaceous granite) - 80 mya
north contact points: Headland Cove & Whaler's Cove
south contact points: Hidden Beach
