Return to Dunsmuir Trip Map

Coming from Sacramento on I-5, take Hwy 20 east out of Williams.
Every distance is about 3 to 5 miles from here...
Take a right on Lonestar Road. Abel Road is hard to find!
Go east (before the farm house) and into the "Colusa Unit".
This is a good time to take a picture of Sutter Buttes to the east.
Turn around and retrace your steps to Hwy 20 to Colusa.

Delevan Unit
In Colusa, turn left (north) on Hwy 45 turning back left (west) on Maxwell Rd.
Your best photo op for this unit is befor you turn right (north) on 4-Mile Road.
At a paved road, turn left (Delevan Rd) and head west to Hwy 99W.
Sacramento Unit
Turn right (east) in the middle of this refuge on Hwy 68 to Princeton.
We didn't find the headquarters of this National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
Llano Seco Unit
At Princeton turn right (north) on Hwy 45 again and don't miss
the right turn (east) on Road 61 to Butte City.
Bad news, no restroom. Good news, there's one at the Llano Seco Unit.
Outside of Butte City on Hwy 162 turn left (north) on Z Road (after Y Road).
This turns into 7-Mile Lane. The edge of the Llano Seco Unit is not the stop.
The turn in with the restroom & viewing platforms is clearly marked further along.
Chico
Turn right on Road 32 into Dayton. Turn north on Dayton Road into Chico.
