McCloud is east of Mount Shasta on Hwy 89. There's a recommened Dinner Train through the Mount Shasta Wilderness. The McCloud Hotel is a big part of the historical area. The best food is out near the highway: Floyd's Foster Freeze. Don't let the "Coyote St Gym" lettering stop you! Just good burgers (butter & grilled buns) and fries.
