The family lived on the all Japanese-American Terminal Island, San Pedro, CA. He attended Temple University Dental School during WWII while his family was kept at the Manzanar "Relocation" Camp, Lone Pine, CA.
My mother, Mariko Nishinaka, was the 2nd oldest in her family. Her father leased and subleased farming land in San Pedro Hills, CA. When her father was taken from their family after "Pearl Harbor" Mariko drove the family and some friends to Utah where they tried to farm during the war years.
