It's about 45 minutes from McCloud to Burney Falls, but the falls are right off Hwy 89 and there's no traffic. If it has rained or snowed however, the road can be icy. At the end of March we got lucky with clear days but there was still snow on the side of the road. It was a bit of a stretch at the end of the day, but you aren't going to be around these parts very often either, are you?
